My professional interpreting career started in 2012 having obtained a BSc in Deaf Studies (Interpreting Stream) from the University of Bristol. I registered with NRCPD as a Trainee Interpreter upon completion of my degree and started working in the South West before relocating to my home town of Chelmsford, Essex having been offered an in-house Interpreter position at the Royal Association for Deaf People. During my time at RAD, I gained extensive experience of interpreting community based assignments in Essex, Kent and London.
I qualified in 2015 having undertaken a PGDip in BSL/English Interpreting from SLI and work across a variety of sectors including, but not limited to, Finance and Accountancy, Health Care, Education, Charity, Corporate and Government, Social Care, VRS and more recently, Law. I also have experience of working with victims of Domestic Abuse and those in need of Crisis Intervention.
I am on the National Register of Communication Professionals working with Deaf and Deafblind People (NRCPD) and am also a full member of ASLI, the Association of Sign Language Interpreters.
