I am a fully qualified freelance RSLI, having completed my PGDip at UCLan in Preston in February 2024. I live in North Essex, and work all over Essex as well as in Cambridge, Suffolk and London. I also work remotely as and when required.
I worked in television for 19 years before becoming a sign language interpreter, and that gave me a lot of experience in things like job interviews, meetings and training. It also taught me how to have a lot of patience and empathy! I often do these office and corporate based interpreting assignments because this is my background and where I have the most relevant experience. I also enjoy interpreting in medical settings, education and in the community. In the future I’d like to undertake the CPD required to work in police and legal settings, as well as potentially going back into the world of television as an interpreter.
